A boutique market garden set in the Yampa Valley. Kyle and Ally, the owners, both educated and seasoned gardeners looked to small farming as a way to achieve meaningful careers that were rooted in sustainability. Kyle Badertscher received his horticulture degree from CSU in 2006. Design is his field of concentration so growing on less than an acre, creative designs were implemented to grow the most food on the minimum amount of land. Plant specialists, we research continuously the finest vegetables that thrive in cooler climates and higher elevations. All the plants are Naturally Grown for safety of our own lives, the planet, and our customers. We eat the plants too!
New Projects 2024
As a recap from last year, our hydroponic strawberry operation was a huge success. We learned a lot about PH, nutritional needs, fruiting cycles, and so much more. In 2024, we will continue growing more strawberry plants hydroponically. Check back with us near July to get some fruit at the farmer’s market or at our plant sale, we will have strawberry plants available for you to grow.
This year’s big update is : Land Expansion.
Last Fall, another half acre of land was cleared out at our property in Steamboat Springs, CO. We are excited to be increasing our production of greens, rhubarb, and Routt county garlic. Opening new land can require a lot of work but its rewards can be so sweet. Experimenting and learning new ways to grow plants is a huge part of who we are.
